Missing the Campfire? Let’s Find Some Holiday Sparkle!
Hello, Chestnut Ridge family!
Is it just us, or does the campground seem a little too quiet right now? While our gates might be closed for the season, our hearts are still wide open. We know many of you are busy trading s’mores for sugar cookies and campfire stories for holiday carols.
Even though we aren’t gathering around the fire pit this month, there is still plenty of magic happening right here in our backyard. If you are local to Hubbard or swinging through the Youngstown area this December, here are a few ways to keep that festive spirit alive.
Local Holiday Happenings Near Hubbard
Just because the RV is parked doesn’t mean the adventures have to stop. Here are a few favorite local traditions to check out this month:
-
Winter Celebration at Mill Creek MetroParks:
Take a stroll through the Festival of Trees at the Davis Education & Visitor Center. It’s a stunning display of trees decorated by local non-profits. It’s the perfect place to get warm and inspired! -
Joy of Christmas Light Show:
Missing the drive into the campground? Take a drive through Firestone Park in Columbiana instead! Their drive-through light display features over a million lights and is a massive hit with the kids (and the kids-at-heart). -
Hubbard’s Own Holiday Cheer:
Don’t forget to swing by Tylee Park to see the lights! It’s a great reminder of the beautiful community we are part of.
The Ultimate Camper’s Gift Guide
Struggling to find the perfect gift for the outdoorsy person in your life? (Or maybe you need to drop a hint for yourself?) Here are three things every camper loves to see under the tree:
- Cast Iron Care Kits: Nothing says “I love you” like preserving their favorite skillet.
- Personalized Camping Mugs: For that first cup of coffee by the lake.
- The Gift of Anticipation: Did you know our 2025 calendar fills up fast? Booking a weekend for next May is a great way to give everyone something to look forward to through the long winter.
See You in May!
We are using this quiet time to spruce things up and get ready for another amazing season starting May 1st, 2026. Until then, we wish you a safe, cozy, and Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
Stay warm, and we’ll keep the fire ring ready for your return!
